Past Days and Notes for 8th Grade:

Hey Gang,

I've fallen a bit behind on posts.  So, here are the general topics and assignments we've created and used so far, along with the notes (PPT presentations that come with them).

1.  Still Life Drawing:  
Medium:  Drawing with Pencil on Paper
Subject Matter:  Subject matter was a Still Life (not a portrait nor a landscape)

Style: Representational style (real looking- represents what is observed by the artist).

2.   Clay Mask: (Seventh grade created a Functional Object with clay)
Medium:    Sculpting with Clay 
Subject Matter:    Subject matter was a Mask (not a portrait nor a landscape)
Purpose: PPT -      See Above ^   The purpose of this assignment is Cermonial
Style:   Abstract style (not real looking- resembles but changes what is observed by the artist).

3.  Persuasive Painting:  (Seventh Grade is doing a Narrative Painting, and notes focus on Ancient Egypt).  
Medium:    Painting with watercolor on Paper
Subject Matter:    Subject matter was a choice of the student  (could be a  portrait nor a landscape, or even a still life)
Purpose: PPT -  See Above  ^   The purpose of this assignment is Persuasive.
Style:   Representational style (real looking- represents what is observed by the artist).
