Day One through Three in Art (8th Grade)

Hey Gang,

Day one (Monday, November 1st) I was not present.  Students did a series of three drawings with a substitute, and created their port folio folder (where all of there art is to be stored for the six weeks period of my class.

Day Two:  November the 3rd, we discusses the class expectations and points about organizing.
     - Respect and the three different types.
               1.   Conditional:   Manipulative and self-centered, on the surface.  Given to get something in
                      return, like: forgiveness, favor, etc..
               2.   Compliant:  Given out of benevelance, kindness, sense of duty.  Given considering the needs
                      of others.  It's not fair to the giver.
               3.   Relational:   Based on love and kindness.  This type is the only one that is EARNED.   It is
                       earned over time knowing a person, and based on a very high regard (opinion of that person).

We also went over the math involved in figuring out your grade at any time you need to during the six weeks.
